My triumphant return… with walk breaks

After taking several weeks off due to a janky knee and ankle, mama’s back!

I jumped back into training this week with the support of my wonderful friends. My work teammate, Emily, dragged me out on a lunchtime run. My RAGNAR Relay teammates patiently waited as I held up the rear of the pack and took substantial breaks during a few group runs.

Today I ran the Especially For You breast cancer awareness 5k with thousands of men, women, and kids.I finished in about 29 minutes. It was the perfect race to motivate me to run hard again (and the cool 45-degree weather and post-race breakfast helped, too!).

My cousin, Trish, rocked her first half today. Three of my friends ran the Chicago Marathon and excelled – one even qualified for Boston! Next weekend, several of my gal pals are running the Detroit International Half. And in less than a month, I’ll be soaking up rays at RAGNAR Napa Valley!

I love fall, and I love running and cheering for my friends. Fall 2016 is going to be spectacular!
